There is a period between confusingly solo and happily in love that I prize.
It is the stage where a lot of you may go all Adele or Gotye in order to move forward, but years of breaking hearts and dealing with my own, taught me to appreciate the situation for what it helps you; finding yourself.
It is when you seperate from what you thought was the love of your life to when you discover that it is not the end of the world, that you need the right amount of self-distance and self-containment. Because once you let yourself out in the dating jungle, never expect yourself to fall instantly in love with your Mr.Right. Be prepared to face a lot of getting nuts and having to accept the perfectly revealed extent of your current loneliness.
And to come across a few douchebags, that is.
I met Mr Undeniably-good-looking fashion boy that seemed to have everything I was searching for in a man, including my dream job. A ridiculously great dance, ride home, weekend of texting and a first date later-
(get me right; no kisses that early)
he announced that he wanted to move to London with me while also revealing that he had a girlfriend since two years.
(obviously stopped talking there)
Which led me to Mr Double-standards that became Mr Too-aggressive-for-his-own-good after midnight. But they both had these simple things in common which, apparently, are the only things I am looking for in a man; a sense of humour, mysterious eyes and an adorable smile.
Yet did they both also have a very significant fact in common; they weren’t anything for me. That finally got me dancing into Mr One-hundred-percent. Mr Apprectiation, Gratification and Completion. Mr would not make a row out of nicknacks, Mr enjoys the moment for what it is, Mr spoons me all night, Mr stands up and joins me when I dance and Mr best friend plus intercourse.
Because unlike a pharmacy, the dating jungle does not offer men after orders. There is not
- a possibility to recieve a man after your specific needs with instructions on how to swallow in order to maintain sanity.
A man does not come with an instruction manual nor warnings. But then again, that is the beauty in it. The whole getting to know each other, spending long days and long nights together before passionately having that incredibly good first kiss. Scratching each others backs for several hours, before sharing nights not able to remove the hands off of each others bodies. Waking up to find the bed a big mess while brushing through his hair, kissing him good morning and laughing every hour without him because you thought of something fun you two did.
Pleasure should not have to withhold pain. Be aware of that fact and keep in mind that how hard it might be to ever leave something quite good in order to find something better; it will be worth it.
Take my word for it.
